[04/28/2011] Michelle Watts
After years of searching and waiting, tortuous trial and error, I've finally found a workplace I'm proud to call “Home”.
When I made my way through the dead silent Liberty Building corridor on that cold February day, I thought over my resume as well as the interview preparation questions I had been studying for nights. Bright eyed and bushy tailed, I opened the door to what I hoped would be my new office.
I was greeted by smiling, curious faces and I returned the same courtesy. I was taken to the boardroom by a sweet little being named Leah and would soon find out that Leah's height was the only thing “little” about her. I had no idea how much of a positive and integral role Leah would play in my very near future. Not to mention the hilarious, kind, warm people that I would soon encounter in the Field Day office.
In a large, sunlight boardroom I would soon meet the big man, Mr. Andrew Arntfield himself! My nerves were out of control as he took his seat at the head of the table. To my surprise, Andrew was wearing an even bigger smile than I was! No way! The office was great, the people I had met so far were amazing, the position I was applying for was a dream and everyone was happy? In my mind, something had to be wrong. Perhaps it was all a big joke and Ashton Kutcher was going to pop out from behind the door confirming my worst fear: this was too good to be true.
After what seemed like the longest 10 seconds of my life, Andrew opened his mouth and I would soon learn my fate…
That was almost 3 months ago now and here I stand in the one of a kind Field Day office! I feel so happy to be here and I'm so excited to learn everything that I can from the amazing staff at Field Day! I never knew it was possible to have so many wonderful people together in 1 office. And I had no idea I could be so infatuated with my workplace, now known to me as: my home.
