Senior Producer for CBC Sports Online
Sports fans from around the world are getting their Olympic news via an innovative website created by Field Day Inc. The Toronto agency recently teamed up with CBC.ca to design and build their 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games website. The 2000+ page interactive site is packed with up-to-the-minute news, event and venue information, athlete profiles and contests.
"Working with Field Day on the Olympics was a terrific experience," said Andrew Lundy, senior producer for CBC Sports Online. "Their design work, their innovative ideas and their dedication to producing a top product helped make our site the number one Olympic destination in the country."
The website, launched in mid-December, reflects a distinctly Canadian feel, featuring black and white banner photographs, a refined red and almond colour palette, creative iconography and an intuitive design interface. Content highlights include live news updates from Salt Lake City, in-depth athlete features and comprehensive overviews of the 15 Winter Olympic sports, including their essentials and Olympic history.
Field Day was awarded the contract based on previous multimedia and website projects for CBC Television and CBC.ca, as well as strong relationships with other major sports properties such as Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the Molson Indy and the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid.
