QUEEN'S QUAY TERMINAL BRINGS HISTORY TO LIFE

"The historical banners are a highlight of our renovated retail space. They add interest and value for our visitors as well as adding colour and warmth to the shopping environment."

Field Day Inc., the agency of record for Queen's Quay Terminal, has completed work on a major environmental signage project for the retail centre.

A series of 24 eight-foot banners are part of a new look at Queen's Quay Terminal, designed to recognize and celebrate the Terminal's place in Toronto's waterfront history. The banners feature historic photographs of the building from 1920 to 2001. In addition, a running narrative explains the use of the Terminal Warehouse, the previous incarnation of Queen's Quay Terminal.

Joe Aguiar, senior manager, Property and Tenant Services, says, "The historical banners are a highlight of our renovated retail space. They add interest and value for our visitors as well as adding colour and warmth to the shopping environment."

While renovations to the physical space include new lighting, the addition of wood panels and new store signs, the banners provide colour and visual continuity throughout the retail section. Queen's Quay Terminal features unique shops and fine dining by the lake. The banners will be on display throughout the fall.

Field Day has worked with Queen's Quay Terminal for three years. "We're proud of our relationship with Queen's Quay," says Andrew Arntfield, president and creative director, Field Day. "From our first campaign 'The City Begins Here' to the current 'Get your feet wet' materials, we've used luminous colours and bold images which reflect the energy of life at Toronto's waterfront."
